A cuppa with…..Lee

Lee Stanworth is a bodybuilder from Barnstaple, North Devon. He works as a full time care worker for disadvantaged children and is also a retained firefighter. When he is not working he trains at the gym. He started to get interested in competing as a bodybuilder in 2013 and decided to enter the UKBFF Under 178cm Men’s Physique Welsh Championships which he won and he then received an invitation to compete at the British Championships. In 2014 he won the men’s physique Welsh championship for the second time and was invited to compete in The British Finals in which he placed in the top 15.

What have been the proudest moments of your career history to date?

Probably winning the Welsh championships in 2013. It was the first time I had competed and to win was quite a buzz.

What are your fitness plans for this next year?

I am now starting to prepare for 2015 competitions. I plan to maximise my potential using Deluxe Nutrition supplements to improve my physique and increase my muscle.

Do you have you heart set on any particular goal for the future?

I plan to compete again in the 2015 UKBFF Welsh champions & hopefully win again for the third year running. I would also like to compete in the Arnold Classic in Madrid.

Which Deluxe product would you recommend to others and why?

I absolutely love the 100% protein in raspberry ripple flavour. It’s extremely high in protein per serving and is far better quality than other protein supplements I have tried. The flavour is a bonus. It makes a great breakfast shake, I use it after every training session and I even use it to make pancakes.

What do you value above anything else and why?

My family are more important to me that anything. There’s my girlfriend Rachael and our children. Oakley who is eight, Olivia who is fifteen, and our gorgeous baby girl Emmie, who has just turned one.

Which person has influenced you most in your life?

My partner Rachael. She is an amazing support and advises me on what to do and she’s always right. When I met her I had a poor diet, she got me into healthy eating. We also met in the gym and I would go there more often to see her, so I guess that’s helped me on my career path too.

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try one more time.

What is on your bucket list that you haven’t got round to doing yet?

I would love to go to Las Vegas and watch the Mr Olympia.

What is your perfect way to unwind on a weekend?

I live very close to the coast and have some amazing walks around us. So getting out and about with my dog Cecil and the children is a great way to unwind.

Not many people know this about me but….

I like superheroes. I’m a huge fan of Marvel and DC comics. I even collect superhero statues, games, Lego characters and comics.
